Two finals this weekend   05/15/2014

it promises to be an exciting day of football at Gaelic Park on Sunday with two finals down for decision.

The main event of the day is the league final between Cork and Donegal which begins at 4pm.

Both teams have been in flying form in their respective sections en route to this decider.

Cork's huge win over Cavan on Sunday earned them a final berth having seen off the challenge of Kerry last Thursday evening while Donegal enjoyed compressive wins over both Monaghan and Leitrim.

Cork boss Pat Scanlan has benefited from the experience of his captain Gary Downey while a talented panel has been boosted by the likes of former Wexford player Adrian Morrissey and Cork duo Denis O'Sullivan and Hugh Curran with Rory Stafford and big midfielder Alan Raftery always dependable for the Rebels.

Donegal manager Pat McGill will look to the likes of new players Brendan Quigley and Adrian O'Connor as well as last year's captain Paul McGinley and American-born goalkeeper Brian Cullinane.

Meanwhile, in the Junior A Football Knockout final, Cavan will take on Westmeath with a 2.30pm throw-in.

Westmeath, captained by Ray Coyle, cruised past Brooklyn Shamrocks last Friday evening while Cavan had two hurdles to navigate in the form of St Raymond's and newly promoted Longford. It's all set to be an interesting clash between two sides favored for championship honors later in the year.

Special mention also to the Manhattan Gaels Ladies Football team who will play their first ever game at Gaelic Park on Saturday evening at 5pm.
